But the real news of yesterday was blog work and another household mishap. Was cleaning up to get ready for company today and my hand slipped when I was wiping up something on the floor and that led to my head coming into hard contact with the commode. Tooth chipped but nothing big and fat lip which is now fortunately not fat. Ice and advil and all is fine BUT it reminded me once again. Slow and steady win the race and that life can change in a second. I say "everything is fine until it is not". Knees and fat lip - April has been a month. Need to circle my wagons for better and more careful self care at my advanced age.
Other than mishap, blog work was very rewarding. I love writing and I love even more the responses I get. Makes my day. Closing line from one response yesterday - "Grateful that you took the time to reach out - it's coming at a time of great reflection about my life's work...". Retiring professor who coined the term “thanatechnology”. I had just gotten my head around thanatology. Always something, but the reality is she coined the phrase 20+ years ago...I am always late to the dance.
Went for an abbreviated walk. Rainy day. Losing my enthusiasm for walking in inclement weather. I need to start the month of May with new energy and outlook. Fingers crossed on that one.
Today - noon arrival of cousin, her gentleman caller, sister #4. Walk and lunch. I will keep the lip iced this a.m. to make sure I look good. :) Fortunately this Sunday is the 4th Sunday so DC at 4 and 7. East/West Coast DC and Albany CA DC. It will be the perfect wrap for this weekend. :)
