From my cousin in Rochester NY yesterday. "In the 20s today with a wind that made it feel even colder. One of those April tricks that Frost wrote about. Picture below. there are blooming daffodils under the snow. The sun was warm, but the wind was chill." We had flurries here, and sister #4 reported hail in RI...What a day. Will see how it feels when I head out this a.m. for walk with family friend.
Yesterday - Shoprite $74/$40 day. Had my Club Size coffee raincheck. Good for 4 uses...but they all had to be done at the same time...That was $12.49 each for 4-3 lb cans of coffee so that bulked up my bill. Oh well. No coffee buying now for QUITE awhile. Also digital coupon for TP. Another oh well. That will also be off my buying list for awhile going forward. Grocery shopping is grueling for me. :) I don't know how regular people - like my sisters - just walk into a grocery store buy what they want and walk out. :)
So back from Shoprite, ran dishwasher and washed clothes. Short for me walk. 1, 4, 7 p.m. ZOOMs. Interesting people in all three. And had a great email from one of my FEN blog outreach. A professor emeritus in the bioethics department at U of Minnesota. I have such respect for people who can endure coming up against injustice and keep going. I retired in July of 2020 and am moving towards age 76. I have been in the healthcare system since 1967 and have almost nothing positive to say about it. There are so many reasons for this but a major one is the emphasis on cure over care with all that means in relation to dying. I have been a nurse for 55 years and have been involved in, for lack of a better description, dying work for much of that time. I loved her sharing, but the reality of it is so discouraging.
Today walk, EOLD, clean apt and Lansing tonight.
Got a text from son that he is not back "home". Never know how he classifies that with all his travel, but he is back in the home he owns. The cold weather was NOT the welcome home he had hoped for with an April return...I told him next week will be warmer. I hope his car started and his upstairs tenant has started or completed her move out. He is looking forward to having a new face upstairs WITH NO PETS. We will see how that goes.
Landlady had homemade granola on my stoop yesterday. I am a lucky gal!
Someone you are obliged to do business with today may seem a bit strange to begin with but once you get to know them better you will get along just fine. Your contrasting styles may even knit together to form a highly successful team.
The more organized and devoted you are to success, the bigger your payoffs will be. As Mercury and Mars form a stabilizing connection amongst the stars, do your best to stay focused while tackling jobs both small and large. Leadership opportunities emerge when you demonstrate an ability to promote teamwork. Help out your colleagues to make a good impression with the higher-ups. However, it may take some extra effort on your end to step into the spotlight while Luna moves through Virgo and the sector of your chart that governs privacy. Luckily, Jupiter steps in to boost your morale this evening.
A talent for writing that you haven't tapped may surface today, Libra. Perhaps using a computer, particularly one with voice activation, is making it possible. Your imagination is in full swing, and your work may be very entertaining. If you've been thinking about writing, this is the day to start. It's also a good day to handle paperwork relating to finances. You should breeze through it.
Hmmm...will see where my energy takes me. Have a good Wednesday. Tomorrow morning I will need to "hustle". The town middle school has a program for seniors. Will see what they are interested in knowing about from us old people. Going with family friend so I will look to her to keep me on the rails and not horrify the young people with any of my rants about growing old in America. :)
