A book "got me" again!

Finishing a book this a.m. got me writing back to another reading fan.

Have to smile - I just this moment finished a book and was sitting down to my computer to make some notes...Stone Yard Devotional / Charlotte Wood.  AND I so need to get to the library and pick up God of the Woods and look for Grandma Gatewood's Walk  :)

As to the note I wanted to make about the Stone Yard Devotional book - There were other quotes I am kicking myself for not jotting down in the moment, but this one moved me to my computer. (and have the song "Everybody Hurts" playing in the background as character says about a song that was with her mother at her end.)

"There is something called forgiveness therapy, I have read.  Psychologists working in this field say that true forgiveness cannot take pace without detailed, thorough assessment and acknowledgement of the nature and effect of the injury.  Forgiveness, they say, does not require reconciliation with the person who has caused the harm, nor does it mean forgetting the hurt.

There are four steps to true forgiveness, the therapists say:  uncovering the nature of the harm; the decision phase, in which to explore whether to grant forgiveness or withhold it; the necessary "work"; and the final step, deepening or discovery.  Many people reach the decision phase and find that it is not possible to forgive after all.  In the work phase, the injured person must labour to understand the individual who caused the harm in a new way, which may create more compassion towards the offender and oneself.  In the final deepening stage, the forgiver is supposed to find the hurt and hatred associated with the injustice receding even further.  The forgiver may discover meaning in their suffering and understand that there is a freedom in forgiveness."

Good way for me to start my day.  Yesterday I finished my 4 days of working early voting in my town.  Always interesting - people who are seeing the me they knew of the 1952-1970 me in Collinsville and those who know the 2006-2025 me who "is the lady who walks all over town"...Nobody knows the 1971-2005 persona.  Very interesting to "feel" the conversations that come up.

Here is to a good week.  I am ending the week on Friday at a program at a local library.  Looking forward to it.

Sound Journey Meditation with Julieanne Palmer  Friday, November 7 7:00 p.m. Join us on a journey created to bring each participant into the body, to release that which no longer serves the self, align with the higher self, and create new ways of being. Singing bowls, drums, rattles, chimes and other instruments will be used to reinforce and energize the meditation, all in a joyous and soulful way. Bring a mat to lie on, a blanket, a pillow, water, and an opened mind and heart.

SO glad I passed on signing up to work Election Day.  It is 3:29 a.m. as I write, I would be checking into work at 5:30 a.m. and not get out until 9:30 p.m. give or take...  More than my body, mind and spirit could handle right now.  In my overly dramatic way.  :)  Still glad that it is just a regular Tuesday - Shoprite, laundry, run dishwasher, walk, CA DC, Rochester related DC tonight.  Full night of dreams and up/down sleep.  Started my latest Silva this a.m.

There can be no more excuses for not pushing ahead with your plans. The time has come to commit yourself 100 per cent and the first step must be to cut out of your life anything and everything that might distract you. Be ruthless with yourself.

The Aries moon aspects Jupiter and Venus this morning, dear Libra, triggering a sense of unease. Reflect on your relationships and professional standing before starting the day, considering where you need to focus more attention. Just don't lose yourself in this process, recognizing that you deserve love and the occasional rest as well. You'll be called to spring into action once Mars enters Sagittarius and opposes Uranus, bringing forth breakthroughs. If you've made any significant wishes recently, the universe will test the waters to see if you are ready for such blessings. Old grudges could resurface after Luna enters Taurus and squares Pluto, but try to forget, even if you cannot forgive.

Legal papers regarding money that you may have been working on for a while should finally be done today. This should lift your spirits if for no other reason than to have it all out of the way! You should feel especially talkative, enthusiastic, and passionate. You may want to schedule a romantic evening with your partner. Have fun!

My first guidance reminds me of a saying one of my former school #1 bosses used to say - "A good plan, violently executed today, is better than a perfect plan next week," attributed to General George S. Patton. It emphasizes the importance of decisive action over perfect planning, suggesting that a good plan put into action immediately is superior to a perfect plan that is delayed.   :)  Boss was the Marine, I was the Peace Corps volunteer.  He felt me a bit timid at times.  :)

Here is to a good Tuesday, strong election results, and a good walk.  Have a good Tuesday.
