Happy New Year 2026!

No toasting for me, but Happy New Year.  Went to bed at 6-ish pm, woke up at 3:30-ish a.m.  Tail end to whatever cold I have had all week.  Talked to sister #6, sister #1 still there leaving today.  Niece and husband will arrive tonight and stay until Saturday.  Yesterday I read, walked, stopped by library to warm up before last mile of walk. Emailed back and forth with son. 

Woke up this a.m. with a text sent at 12:11 a.m. "Wake up! 2026 Happy New Year!!!! from NC friend.  Nice smile creating way to start the day.  "Game day decision" as to whether sister #4 will be coming up for her friend's NYD brunch.  It snowed overnight so she will see how she feels about the roads.  Today or tomorrow I do need to go to Shoprite to get oranges and coffee on a special 2 day sale.  Can't turndown 8 lbs of navel oranges for $4.99 and cans of coffee - 2 for $6.00.  Oranges make it a bit heavy for a walk errand.  :) 

Did take down car mileage on Dec 30.  184,013.  7/3/2025 was 183,103.  7/27/2024 was 181,415.  

Possible DC at 2 p.m. today.  Will see if sister #4 is around or not.  Will have to crank on the heat if she decides to stay overnight.  I did clean apt (all chores back on schedule again!) and rearranged the living room furniture.  :)  Not much furniture but I was called to change it up.  Family friend texted early that no walk for her today.  Good thing as my route was wonky with the ice.  

Don’t let it bother you that you seem to be doing more for other people than you are able to do for yourself. Your sacrifices will not go unnoticed and before the year is much older others will be doing stuff for you in return.
