Week of Dec 21: Happy Holy Daze, Libra! I've been meditating on the perfect holiday gift for you. What symbolic offering might inspire you to be in closest alignment with the cosmic currents in 2007? I've decided on the book Power Unseen: How Microbes Rule the World. In it, author Bernard Dixon praises bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa. Without them, he says, we'd be nothing. They're instrumental in providing our food, purifying our drinking water, and processing our sewage. If you keep Power Unseen in a prominent place in your home during the coming months, it might constantly remind you to be reverent toward and grateful for the little things--which is exactly what the astrological omens suggest you should do. Maybe the book will also inspire you to be alert for invisible helpers and inconspicuous allies.
December 20, 2006 -- The world is a hugely diverse place and there is plenty of room for all sorts of beliefs and all shades of opinion. If you keep that thought in mind today you are less likely to react badly when you hear something you do not agree with. A calm acceptance of all things is the attitude you most need to develop.
This is the guidance I woke up to this morning. Yesterday I went to the bank and the cleaners - fresh money for the kid gifts and clean slacks to wear on Sunday. After work I did do 45 minutes of shopping and may have finished what I am going to be able to finish - but I will check in with that thinking on Saturday. I again rewarded myself with a steamed apple cider at Starbucks before going off to church for Advent Reconciliation. An hour very well spent in this busy season. I walked back and forth to church, but tonight was my first regular long walk since Saturday...I could feel the stiffness setting in this morning. After work tonight I went for my walk, then off to the grocery store and pick up my book club book (the one I am the discussion leader for in November) at B&N. Now it is way past my hot bath time.
Heard a great song on ESPN radio - a "remake" of John Denver's Rocky Mountain High with new lyrics about Denver Signing "I". I guess it works well that Carmello got suspended for throwing the punch. George Karl and Allen Iverson should be an interesting dynamic to watch.
With all the holiday frenzy building to a fever pitch, my check engine light went on tonight. Mocking me again - I hate that light! I am very glad I had my astrological guidance this a.m. - I am reaching for straws at this point. I have a couple of discussion today about getting a federal ban on celebrating the major holidays for at least two years. I am not saying no to any patriotic, religious or spiritual observances as the calendar dictates, but the commercial aspect will be eliminated. I do not wish ill on our retail outlets, but something has to give. People have to find ways to get together and share their time with family and friends without the 3 ring circus. Just a thought.
Is this week over yet?
