Late Start Monday!

Guess the weekend took a bit more out of me than I thought! I did not wake up until 6 a.m. I will have to keep moving to get back on track. I never got to use my user name and password to watch the Neville Brothers. I got to sister #5's at 8 a.m. and left a bit after 4:30 p.m. - long day, but I got my chili and chips from Vanilla Bean restaurant delivered to me as I unpacked the kitchen so it all worked out. I even got some "parting gifts" - a bedspread, some pants, a purse. On the way home, I stopped by the parents to leave a poster board for my mom that my niece did for a school project about my mother's award winning equestrian work. She loved it. Then I was off to my brother's for a swim because I could feel my back tightening up as I drove home after all that "lift that bail, tote that barge" work today. I was in the pool doing my amateur water aerobics while my brother's family sat on the deck telling me about their vacation to Maine and niece #1 also had stories about her month in Ireland. A good day. Got home almost in time for Q&A but since the guest was Nancy Pelosi trying to sell her new book...don't think I missed much.

It makes me laugh when I think that my sisters look to me for organizational and style work around the house, but I do think I "do" a good kitchen cupboard set up and even though I do not do it at my own apartment, I think my layout of what goes where on furniture and pictures was strong. As I unpacked the kitchen and sisters #4 and 5 were moving stuff back and forth, I had an idyllic moment, I was in a light filled space, doing something to help my sister, with the Celtic Women playing on the CD player, and the baseball campers could be heard and seen out every window of her kitchen and living room - I could have died and gone to heaven. Sun, soothing music and the "ping" of the bats on one field and boys doing long toss on the other - can't get much better than that. I love the fact that my sister's apartment overlooks her school's athletic field and a vista of mountains beyond the fields - beautiful.

Two things I was thinking about yesterday but forgot to write about - it makes me smile when I see people getting giddy about the fact that gas is at $3.99 or $4.05 - such a psychological game that gets played on the public. I was completely NOT reducing my carbon footprint yesterday as I logged in 150 miles in one day...almost 4000 miles and I got the car in mid-May?

Another "find" this morning - "7 Daughters something" white wine? I tried it Saturday night and it was very good. My wine review for the week.

I am usually in the car by now, so I better get moving. Have a good Monday.
