I am glad I worked against "my nature" and went to Shelton. Seeing my college friend - and her friends and family - is always a good thing for me. Even had the treat of listening to her son's music CD on my ride home. Ride was easy and it got my weekend off to a good start. Got up to date with my friend's life, not all happy news, but all seems to be working itself out. Life always has turns in the road that sometimes feel like roadblocks but that is when my true belief that everything happens for a reason has to kick in. It is hard for me to frame some of my life events in that context...but I have to step back and take a wider view when I start to doubt it.
It was an interesting table last night - with my NO flair for fashion life and look, it was interesting that 3 people at our table worked at hair salons. Looking at me must have seemed to them like fingernails on the chalk board...I was hoping one of them would wipe out their scissors and ask me to meet them outside and clean me up. But I was aghast when they chatted about the gold mine of hair color - $110 and up per color is their pricing. And you wonder why someone as cheap as I am "likes my gray hair". Just like "I like" au natural for my fingernails and toenails...
I did enjoy listening to the Mets/Astros game last night on the way home. I love heading south in CT so I can listen to 660 the Fan radio station. My old Texas roots clicked in as I celebrated the Astros grand slam that put the Astros over the top and they won the game.
Went online last night to get a user name and password so I can watch the Neville Brothers on line if the mood strikes me tomorrow night. Thanks to my friend last night to give me that lead.
My brother called last night. They are home from their vacation. No more lounging by their pool after work. Oh well. Tomorrow at my sister's I think we can use The Rectory School pool if the heat gets to us after finishing her move. Town pool shuts with just the hint of rain so it gets tricky at this time of year with the afternoon/early evening summer rain storms.
I am going to try and front load this morning with my exercise - before the rains begin, then church, then meet an ex-co worker who is leaving the area for a new job in Elmira NY. I will pop into the parents for a minute after my morning swim.
Have a good weekend.
