New Year's Eve 2009

Yikes! I am going to say "where did this year go?" and "how have I gotten myself to the spot I am in...?" But both are good news - even if the first comment makes me sound like an old person and the second...a bit crazy. Because I am certainly in a better place on 12/31/09 than I was on 1/1/09. And even more intrigued about what is ahead for 2010.

Last day at my temp town clerk job. I have loved it and hope they will find a way for me to pop in and out of that setting. My first attempt to work for the town full time did not pan out, but I am thinking I can put the "good news" tag on that one also.

My January is looking active and I have lots to do and my theory is to just keep doing things that make me happy and energize me - and stay away from people who do not energize me - and see where that road leads me. Seems like a sound plan. We will revisit the plan on 1/31/2010.

I will look to April to register for the 35th Marine Marathon. I walked the 25th (in a faster time than I "ran" the Houston) and want to make sure I do one per decade. 1990 Houston, 2000 25th Marine, and now the 35th. I also volunteered to go to DC and pick up my niece and bring her back to school later in January. We will see if my sister takes me up on that offer. I would incorporate a tourist day in downtown DC which will work for me.

I hope to hear from a local university about two positions I applied for. And I am going to look at some PT things and give that "couple of PT deals" plan a bit longer to develop.

Keep forgetting to mention Omar Wasow - he was on Q&A last week. VERY inspiring and interesting guy. I need to look into his Brooklyn Charter School activity.

Hope everyone is feeling good about "out with the old, in with the new" concept of today and tomorrow. It is feeling good for me.

Happy New Year.
