You can't make this stuff up

Got offered - and accepted - a little part time job for two weeks in December next door at Town Hall; refund check that I had been waiting for quite awhile is waiting in my held mail yesterday; brother is buying me a season's pass to his daughter's home basketball games; I had 3 healthy meals and a good MID DAY walk; "no rush" time at my volunteer job - not like when I fly in after what was my regular work; HBSC is having a 2010 Book Club starting up in February! Could my life feel any better?

It was also amazing that I ran out of time yesterday! On my first day of "retirement". I don't have to worry about being bored. Staying warm...now that is another thing. Winter - I think that is another reason I had to leave my regular work when I did. As I shared with an ex-co-worker yesterday - it has been such a gift to only have to go "to my happy places" ever since November 30. Also with the first snow storm on the horizon for tomorrow - I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow a.m. - so no rush except the usual get my car out of the parking lot by 10 a.m. so the plow boy can get in and do his work.

In addition to my niece's game on Friday night, I have a slate of games for another niece and my old school. Another "gift" to me. Christmas is going to be way anti-climatic after the last few days.

Meeting with a money guy today; ROV work; EDA meeting tonight and maybe lunch with a friend. Tomorrow - getting my father a new computer if possible. That may be my first "non-gift-like" portion of my retirement but at least it will allow him to get back on his email and search for his crossword answers.

Have a couple of more resumes to send out today and 3 meetings. Here is to retirement.
