People day

I loved Isabel Allende's "Sisters of Disorder" descriptors in her memoir.  Keep secrets, help in difficulties, share experiences.  Not something I have been too adept at, but I look around and see that most around me have done a good job with that. Connective tissue.  I keep people at bay for the most part.

Yesterday - conversation with doula.  Have an assignment before we talk again on Aug 30.  Walk.  Stopped to chat with Rep ROV at the polls for the one primary election.  Rep Senate candidate.  Trump's connected candidate won over the candidate endorsed by the state Rep party candidate...  As of yesterday at noon-ish - 61 people had voted.  Lots of work with early voting and "election day" for low turnout but obviously significant results leading up to November.  CA DC at 1 p.m., pool, 4 p.m. SD DC.  Glad all those dominos fell to make that all happen.  Then brother called.  He had not checked in since their beach week. It was cut short - they left the beach early Thursday morning.  Rain due to Debby.  But he did not go back to regular work until Monday.  I did have to smile when he mentioned that he had a headhunter call offering him a couple of companies.  Companies he has put through the ringer at his current job due to not meeting his standards for operation.  Too funny.

One pool lady who had gone up to Vermont for an annual trip to a Chamber music weekend - reported out that she has COVID.  She is the 80+ yr old who is scheduled for a hip replacement on Aug 28th.  Will see if that gets impacted.  Other pool lady asked about why RT 44 was tied up Monday night.  She knows I have a PD connection.  Fatal motorcycle accident per my PD buddy.  From the news this a.m. - . In less than 24 hours, there were three serious motorcycle crashes on Connecticut roads that resulted in two fatalities. In less than 24 hours, there were three serious motorcycle crashes on Connecticut roads that resulted in two fatalities.  On my walk, I was talking to the landscaper at one of the town cemeteries.  Talked about another death in town.  25 year old.  Then once I shut things down and was reading my book, got a text from a former school #1 co worker who was on Main St with daughter looking for ice cream.  Bad news was the ice cream place is closed on Monday and Tuesdays...  good news was I popped down and gave them a little history of Main St in my life and times.  :)  Landlady heard me talking to someone she did not recognize, so she popped down with freshly baked ginger snaps.  Too funny.  And the small world is she used to work with a man who just retired this year from former school #1.

Today - got this from Park and Rec yesterday - Just a reminder, the final two classes of Aqua Fitness are tomorrow, Wednesday, 8/14 and Wednesday, 8/21. As an added bonus, tomorrow evening will also be the final summer concert, so you will be able to workout with a live band for music!  So it will be an extend-o activity day.  Walk with family friend, noon EOLD, pool, then pool again tonight.  How to Talk to The General Public About Hospice with Flen Baker, Hospice Marketing Specialist.  I get a bit irked by the fact that there is a "Marketing Specialist" position attached to hospice work...  When hospice became such a huge money maker it became part of the medical industrial complex in my mind.  Need to do homework as to who owns hospice if someone is shopping for those services BEFORE it is needed.  Looking up his company - The hospice, palliative care and personal care provider Gentiva has agreed to acquire Heartland Hospice and other assets from the nonprofit health system ProMedica. Heartland is valued at $710 million, Bloomberg reported. Gentiva is a portfolio company of the private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CDR)  Private equity as owners of hospice vendor...I think you know how I feel about that, but I will see what he has to say today.  Old people are an ATM for so many companies in today's world.

PD buddy is in his last round of application requirements to move to another town.  Will miss his presence in town and his "elderly checks" on this elderly :) but PD people and their 20 and 20 is very beneficial to all.  20 years and full pension from one town and another 20 at another and still retire at 65 with two full pensions.  Fingers crossed.

Time is not a factor as far as your aims and ambitions are concerned, so don’t put needless pressure on yourself by constantly looking at the clock. Decide what it is that needs to get done and then just do it regardless of the hour.

Chances are that you'll feel upbeat and positive today. Share this energy with others who feel less than content. Your attitude can have a profound effect on friends, partners, spouse, and children. Neighbors and extended family can pick up on your spirit without you even realizing it. If someone is hurt or angry, be encouraging. Everything will eventually work out.

Try not to overshare as the Sagittarius moon forms a t-square with Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, dear Libra, no matter how excited you may be. Personal dreams, exciting news, and brilliant ideas may be difficult to stifle, but keeping them to yourself for now will give you a chance to thoughtfully strategize your next steps. Reinvest in your network throughout the coming weeks once Mercury retrograde returns to Leo, touching base with any friends or colleagues you haven't heard from in a while. Chatty vibes flow tonight when a grand trine forms, so be sure to take part in the conversation.

Pool talk during my chatty time?  :)  Also having class take place during the rescheduled concert.  Might see some people post class.  Have a good Wednesday.
