Someone who put the "service" in customer service!!!

Picture of the front of the card son gave me on my 70th.  "Good Things Ahead".  This came to my mind after I had the AMAZON return experience at KOHL'S.  I packed up my parcel and hit the street walking my box, the QR return code TX friend had printed out and sent to me to KOHL'S and expected "headwinds".  :)  Got there at 9:30 a.m. to find someone busy working but from the first acknowledgement that I was there, was attentive and efficient.  After my latest experiences with humans and customer service...I had set the bar low and - as always - was ready for a fight.  But not the case and I walked away from the counter with parcel on its way back and the sunshine was not only outside but inside KOHL'S.  But now that I say that, how any brick and mortar store can exist and pay people enough to "be sunshine"...when I am walking the "enemy" into the store (AMAZON) is so beyond me.  BUT the day started strong.  :)

So I walked over and on the walk home, stopped at the library to restock.  Working my way through The Hamilton Scheme.  Great line from 1784 thinking:  "Before the country could get, in Hamilton's terms, any better, first it would have to get even worse."   Another what is old is new again for me.  Picked up The Glass Ocean in case I wanted to go mindless after Hamilton.  And The Covenant of Water if not.  We will see where I go.

Yesterday - slipper return (will not open the other box of slippers TX friend sent until I know she got her credit for the dupes), library, EOLD discussion by a great young man - Tony Mayotte (he/him) is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Jeremiah Commons, a non-profit formed to create, operate, and steward a conservation burial grounds and land commons in Southern Michigan. Tony has a background in faith, food, and environmental justice with a Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity school. He is currently in law school at the University of Michigan. Tony lives in Jackson, MI with his spouse and their two children.  So inspiring as to his journey and how he was very inspired by his time in NC (who isn't?) and his time with the people at Bluestem in Cedar Grove, NC.  He also mentioned the place whose founder spoke at another online discussion I had heard - Larkspur in TN.  Other ones mentioned in Mills River NC, New Hampshire, South Carolina.

Then cleaned apt.  Had candles, incense and diffuser going for a bit longer than usual.  No comment from landlord.  Whew.  :)

If you have something important to say you will have to shout to be heard. There is a lot going on at the moment and the only way you are going to cut through the noise is by raising your voice, which you can do as well as anyone.

You won't be in the mood to pretend for others, dearest Libra, as the Aquarius moon squares Uranus before it stations direct. With much turmoil brewing amongst the stars, saying your peace and cutting ties with that which does not serve you will be dramatic but compelling. Just be mindful of what and who you hope to hold onto while the sun and Jupiter align, leaving space for beauty to grow where voids emerge. As the atmosphere calms and Luna enters Pisces, check in with your body to ensure you have everything you need to feel healthy, supported, and well.

Various intellectual or humanitarian subjects you've been reading about have changed your value system, perhaps subtly, Libra. You may not notice it until you hear someone mention beliefs like those you used to hold. It might be uncomfortable to realize that such profound changes have occurred in you, but it's only a natural part of personal growth. Everything changes, so why not you?

Sounds like a heavy day ahead if I listen closely...my only "to dos" are to watch the Chicago shows and Cape Cod DC tonight.  Conversation about widowhood and how it impacts end of life.  I feel I have a bit of context as I have been divorced since 1998 (husband left in 1996) and not partnered with anyone since then.  Will see if any chords get hit during the conversation tonight.  Almost 30 years of "navigation" of the on my own path...1995 move to NC was the beginning of the end but nothing that I had not wanted to happen/saw happening when truth be told.  Guess that is good that NC filled me up on so many other levels that made navigation possible.

But back to the present.  Will take a look at forecast.  Sunny but colder today.  Will head out for walk after Chicago shows.  :)  Have a good Thursday.
