Well that was a day...

Had to smile when I saw I had saved a picture of a chipmunk...wonder why since the meaning and connection it has now only surfaced in June 2026.  :)  But good to find today after high info input day yesterday.  It was a Tuesday, but I ran dishwasher, cleaned apt, walked with family friend, CA DC at 1 p.m. after a break since June 16, swung by swimming lady's house to pick up key for my cat sitting assignment - Fri (1), Sat (2), Sun (1), finished Lilac Girls and IOWA DC that was profound and emotional.  So glad I did not chose to watch PCV program instead.  The room was a true gift to me which I am still sorting through.  Pool was closed for rainy weather.  

So today annual oil change - July 2024 181,415; July 2025 183,103; July 2026 184,672 as to mileage.  Then stop at Shoprite to return a plastic gingerale bottle.  I am kicking myself for not reading the fine print on a breakfast drink I purchased at ALDI - it has artificial sweetener in it!!!  Might see if they will take it back. And I was thinking about maybe no need for a breakfast drink?  What am I getting out of half a glass of OJ or Paul Newman's lemonade?  Also going from 3 scoops of coffee grounds to 2 in my coffee preparation.  I don't notice any taste difference.  Everything has a price and a "why"?  Now you know where my mind was going yesterday and this recall of events is bringing it back.  :)  And as always I am a bit fearful of the annual oil change.  Hope they are gentle.  Balance of day - EOLD, pool, GA DC.  The Gifts of Being An End-of-Life Doula with Christina Wall is EOLD.  GA DC has a speaker from CLI talking about their Sanctuary they are building in Vermont.  

Niece #4 reached out while I was "in" IOWA last night.  Will see if she reaches back out today.

Gear shifting? :)

Finding awe.  Not sure why that hit me this a.m. but lots of input yesterday.  TX/NM friend, sister #6, sister #1.  Glad I am me.  Great pool day.  Great walking day.  Family friend reschedule for walk - today not tomorrow.  Which works for me since tomorrow a.m. is my annual oil change and I think I will put some gas in the car.  1/4 tank but for me that seems like "running on empty".  Can't remember the last time I got gas.  :)  

So yesterday - washed clothes, walked, ALDI - $15.94 for the week - didn't need much, walked to and from pool, PA DC, read Lilac Girls.  Got notice for Sept W&T book club book - Black Woods, Blue Sky.  Glad to hear from sister #6 that niece #4 headed her way for a few days.  Sister #1 was headed to PA then NY.  PA to see gentleman caller.  NY to sit with sister #4 post her knee surgery.  #1 had ended up in urgent care last week after some MOHS surgery and allergic reaction to something.  Another "glad I am me" thought.  

Today - Run dishwasher, walk, CA DC, pool, IOWA DC, will watch PCV webinar that is at the same time as IOWA on tape.  Need to sync up with one of the swimming ladies to get key to her house for my cat tending job for the weekend.  

Hits keep on coming for NC friends.  Off for a coastal weekend with friends.  They are on a roll right now and it is energizing to have them let me vicariously go along.  :)  My mood would be lifted even more if Adam Carolla would do a Home Depot/rebuilding the Palisades episode.  :)

Pensive day

Sent along Healing Time picture to niece #4 yesterday.  She recently had a miscarriage at 12 weeks and yesterday her dog died.  Suddenly, heart attack was what sister #6 shared.  Lot for sister and niece and SIL to process.  And a nursing licensing exam to be taken by niece sometime this summer.  Also sent her part of an e.e. cummings poem:  here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud

Balance of day - walked to Unionville and back, walked to and from pool, watched interesting interview on The Open Mind with former mayor of Midland TX, and a special ICT 250th celebration interview with 3 First Nation activists.  Also read through the 250th celebration edition of the Smithsonian Magazine that family friend lent me.  All thought provoking.  All added to the "pensive".  But it was a beautiful day.  No sibling call.  Sister #1 has a full plate right now.  Glad I was not born #1 of the 6.  Phew.  

Today - wash clothes ("pod seasoned" water yesterday) :), walk, ALDI, no Shoprite needed, pool, PA DC.

Woke up to a 3:33 :)

Good inspiration after an up and down and around Saturday.  Walk with change up in route to avoid weekly protest at the Green, ran into PD buddy - twice - on his run.  He walked with me for a bit.  Watched a video to prepare for Wed GA DC.  Interesting look back at CLI.  Then walked to pool.  Open as when I left my apt...closed due to air quality by the time I got there.  :/  Oh well.  Walked home.  Power went out - no idea why.  Oh well.  Back after an hour or so.  I got a good start on Lilac Girls book.  

Heard from son.  He sent me an "ecodome/ecohousemart.  He has lots of lots, one home.  30 ft in diameter.  And to talk about a new venture in Detroit he would love to work with.  COSM.com is coming to Detroit.  They could not find someone with more venue management/use than my son.  Fingers crossed that link happens.  :)

Definitely rained overnight.  Today is supposed to be beautiful. I will walk back and forth to Unionville.  Swim.  No other plan.  This week - Monday PA DC, Tuesday CA DC, Patient Choices Vermont zoom OR IOWA if they have it, Wednesday - annual oil change, EOLD, GA DC, Thursday-Sunday cat sitting for one of the swimming ladies.  Not sure why a 85+ person gets a pet...another Oh Well.  

NC friends went to EW&F/Lionel Richie show last night.  Those kids.  Big move has not slowed them down.  :)

People day along my wandering

From beginning to end, I "bumped into" people that gave depth to my day.  Sounds corny but that was the feeling I had.  Massage lady, swimming ladies, family at the pool who have lived on one of my walking routes for years and now live across from the entrance to the pool, lady who lives down the street and at 86 is fighting with next steps.  3 kids and all grandkids in California...she is not in California.  But is not an aging with privilege cohort.  Not sure why these encounters felt different than on other days, maybe the massage opened up some "routes" within my mind and body.  Again, sounds corny but it might have.

So yesterday - walk, massage, pool, home.  Landlord and landlady returned home from beach while I was in the walking to massage and pool and back segment of my day.  Glad I tidied up their pile of mail before I left the apt.  Getting to the end of the Judy Blume book.  Was just checking the world wide internet to see if she was still alive and married.  Yes to both.  Will be curious how the author of the book closes out his writing.  

Today walk and I will keep fingers crossed that the Park & Rec don't get ahead of themselves and close the pool today because of weather forecast for TONIGHT...  Time will tell.  No red banner on web site as we speak.  3:50 a.m.  :)

Cleared the air!

Luckily the Park & Rec admins looked out the window and did not listen to all the people on the news.  Pool was open and it was a very small crowd.  People should have looked up from their phones and just walked outside.  Oh well.  But it was a good day for a swim.

So yesterday - walk, read (was looking to see if Judy Blume is still with us, she is) walk to and from pool, not much else.  Today - walk, massage Friday, pool.  Nothing on paper calendar until Monday.  Reached out to college friends - told both that I would not be traveling to them, but they are welcome to swing by at any time.  Both said - "I just might".  We will see.

Smoke gets in my eyes... :)

We did not need a smoke detector to tell us that it was smoky. Cleaned apt.  It was a sweaty, smoky walk in the a.m.  Then EOLD discussion then I hustled up to the pool only to find they posting a sign on the door "CLOSED DUE TO AIR QUALITY".  Those young lifeguards and taking care of themselves :)  Oh well.  So swimming ladies went over to one of their houses to chat a bit, then I stayed to do the book moving job she had asked me to do.  I had gently mentioned that at 86 yrs old...maybe moving the book out of the home rather than around the home...she just smiled and told me where to put what.  Another "Oh well".  Came home had my meal #2 and then called my TX/NM friend back.  She had reached out after her return from Atlanta to College Station and she hopes to be in ABQ by Sunday or Monday.  

Today - walk, pool OR if pool closes - a CA DC I don't normally go to.  Will see what develops in the sky.  Family friend had to head to her family farm yesterday.  Probably with the pool...First World problem, but problematic nonetheless.  

Need to check and see if the bill passed ruling out "spring forward, fall back".  Fingers crossed that it passes.  

Sister #6 recommended I read Georgia - NATIONAL BESTSELLER • In a dazzling work of historical fiction in the vein of Nancy Horan’s Loving Frank, Dawn Tripp brings to life Georgia O’Keeffe, her love affair with photographer Alfred Stieglitz, and her quest to become an independent artist.  Right now I am reading Judy Blume - a Novel and two loaners from family friend - Lilac Girls and Alexander Hamilton by Chernow.  But I will put Georgia on my list.

Lots going on in the world...

Sent into to sister #1 the info about the event in NM for Golden Girls.  A bit too aging with privilege for me.  But will continue to follow the organizer and concept.  

Yesterday - ran dishwasher, no walking this week with family friend notice, pool at her family farm needs a repair person so she will be headed back up, walked, walked up to and down from pool, son texted me, told him to call as I walked home from pool and finished call sitting on bench in shade outside my building.  Quick turnaround to get a shower and meal #2 before SD DC.  Then TRIED to watch library speaker at 7...she did not draw me in right away so I walked away and called it a day.  Sister #4 called to talk about the HS reunion info for our brother's class (one year younger than her).  Sent my annual Happy Bastille Day to former co worker in Pittsboro NC.  Her family moved here from France a long time ago but still part of her personality.  

Today - niece #4 sent a Save-the-Date in Sept for her graduation from her nursing program.  I will plan on going.  EOLD at noon - A VSED Case Study with Catherine Durkin Robinson.  Might drive to pool today - due to time of EOLD and that I volunteered to help one of the swimming ladies after swim to move somethings in her house.  :)  Not sure if apt cleaning will be today or tomorrow.  Nothing else on my paper calendar until massage Friday.  

Good report about son's trip.  Lots of connections from all his US stops along the way.  Atlanta, St Augustine, Detroit, NYC.  Man Man Band. Caught up with band and some friends in Durham and Atlanta.  :)  He is a "connector".  And his "one of one" look made it easy for someone he had not seen since college to see him in the crowd in Durham.  

There is more than one path open to you now, and like it or not, you are going to have to make a choice. As a general rule of thumb, the idea that comes into your head first, however vague, is most likely the best one for you.

If I thought I was betwixt and between on Sunday...here came Monday :)

With my current obsession with eating peaches, I got a kick out of the pic my son sent of the Gaffney Peach.  That and Stamey BBQ were part of his road trip.  He is back home now I am thinking.  :) 

Mind is a bit full this a.m. yesterday was info full.  With landlord and landlady gone, I was able to wash clothes early.  Walk.  Shoprite 8 items $21.82/$7.11 and ALDI 4 items $10.73.  Called Caliber Collision in town to see if I was being led to find someone to get rid of some of my rust bucket car rattles, but the guy said - "Rust, we don't touch it".  :)   Oh well.  Good to hear.  Did have a dream sequence overnight that a town attorney said he would give it a try.  :)  Went to Mettle Health conversation as a follow up to the Heart Bridge Care webinar from Friday.  Very well attended compared to other debrief sessions.  The Doula thing is "a thing" for sure right now. Could time to think about what the day had thrown at me. Walked up and back from pool.  Almost talked myself out of walking to the pool, but glad I went.  Sister #6 called.  One of my former school #1 co workers died.  She had worked with him too at one of her schools.  Almost done with my book!  So good in such a different way for me.  And to top it all off I has a cascade of angel numbers yesterday...and woke up at 3:33 a.m. this morning.  Guided and led.  :)

Woke up this a.m. to find co worker's obit, 50th HS reunion for town's class of 1976 (brother's class), the dream about my car - will stick with my run it until it drops I have lived with the last few years.  2023 was its real beginning of the end.  What a Monday.  Also woke up to see an opp to look at co-living..."starting at $1500 for 3 days"...  Aging by privilege.  But man, I would love to have a spot in the Golden Girl home in Santa Fe.  "Whether it's a Golden Girls–style shared rental home (a new category that is often called "Boommate Homes" and what MEA calls "SageHouses" and "ChrysalisHouses"), a vacation home that doubles as a micro-community, a regenerative village built around a farm and purpose, or fractional ownership homes that provide the freedom of part-time living with full-time community, MEA Homes offer something increasingly rare: a sense of being held by place and people."  1-2 yr rental Boommate Home...no interested in the fractional ownership.  I don't want to own anything.  Hope Mr. Conley does figure out a way to franchise the Golden Girls concept across the country.  

So now...Tuesday.  Dishwasher, walk, walk up and back to pool, SD DC, Library speaker - "Small Towns and Big Secrets: In Conversation with Bestselling Author Karin Slaughter" .

Today - wash clothes, walk, wash clothes, grocery store, make appt for the body shop to look at car for a hail mary type McGyver fix if it makes sense - or not, I can live with either option.  2 p.m. discussion of Friday's Mettle webinar, pool.  Will miss the swimming ladies today.  No other plan.

High info input week...

Reaching for another of my "calm" images.  I got distracted yesterday by Conley, MX/CA doula, baby IRA accounts, sister #4 calling from her poolside...  Lots happening in this world and I am surprisingly taken by newest book.  And I ratcheted back my walk distance a bit and felt more in balance with food/exercise/sleep.  I am a bit fragile.  :)  

So yesterday - reaching out to people I knew who had kids/grandkids born in the baby IRA free money 1/1/25-12/31/28 timeframe.  Regardless of all swirling around the concept.  Free money, set it and forget it, check it when 18th birthday comes around.  Sister #4 shared about sister #3's surgery on Tuesday.  In nursing home now and will return to same post surgery.  Sister #1 will go up next week to relieve Sister #3's wife for a bit.  Sister #1 is a road warrior and 1st born to a tee.  Glad I came in 2nd.  :)  So abbreviated walk, writing, swim, ZOOM with MX/CA doula from EOLD group, Music on Main had a very unfortunate for them, good for me rain downpour so it was Silent on Main when I got finished with ZOOM and headed to bed.  Former co worker from Houston sent me WSJ article about "when your friends all start turning 70"...Now I am thinking about "What about 80?"... :)

Today per the weatherman is going to be a "Top 10 day of the year".  Walk to Unionville, walk to and from pool, make grocery list for tomorrow.  See what comes to me today from all my outreach of yesterday.  

If you are overly critical with someone you love you could find they choose to keep their distance over the next few days, which will not only be unfortunate but could also be counter-productive. Try to make your criticisms sound like praise.

Conversely, New Hampshire took the top spot as the best state to move to, jumping into the top spot from second place last year, dropping last year’s winner, Utah, down to second. Idaho, Virginia, and Maine rounded out the top five states to move to.  A Friday article - more info bits for my map gazing of late.  Mr. Conley might want to get on the radar in those states in his concept of having other people follow his lead in other states.  No cake walk setting up a receptive regulatory environment to get it done.  Why he might try the little house concept on his Mexico property versus in NM. What state is going to court this "where is my last move" location to live supported in community and in peace.  Sort of like healthcare - community and care versus treatment and cure mindset environment.  

Yesterday - walk, great Mettle Health ZOOM.  Contents should be on - if it still exists which it does not - "prime time TV".  Shouting the message from the rooftops. Understanding the Work of End-of-Life Doulas. Can't wait until the Monday debrief/informal discussion. Again something else that was not a historic need but a definite need in this time of solo aging and family structure and proximity so different.  I sent Mr. Conley's presentation to many!  But I forget that others have not been as immersed in the 4th quarter of life contemplation.  So I will see how it lands.  

Walked up and back to pool after ZOOM.  Ended up popping two Advil after my Friday.  Lots of walking and swimming and the timing was off - eating and exercise.  I am so routine on when I do what and I threw that up into the air on Friday.  :)  Oh well.  It will be the same schedule content on Monday so I will shift timing up a bit. I am reminded again that I can overthink anything. :)  One of the swimming ladies asked if I could help move some things around at her house.  She is the opposite from me as to "stuff".  AND she is a decade older...  We will chat about that when I do my work shift.  :)  And I am still enjoying my latest book.  

Today - thinking about whether my walk up and back from pool will be MY walk...May offer up the post swim time to swimming lady for my work at her house.  Will see if she bites on that time slot.  Nothing on my paper calendar so wide open if I feel like changing things up.  

You may be desperate to push ahead on the work front and show what you can do but being desperate could also lead to mistakes you would not normally make. This is one of those occasions when you need to rein in your enthusiasm a bit.

Well another rabbit hole I see myself gazing into.  ONE of the rental options is - on the surface - affordable for me...furnished, utilities included!!!  Was at presentation by the person who did the NYT Golden Girls living situation article.  150+ people in the audience.  I will keep an eye to it.  1 or 2 year rental...could definitely by fill my airbnb thought concept and the "go west old people" thought.  Signed up for updates.

I am way beyond the "middle" demographics, but as my map yesterday and this graphic shows how demographics are not working in our favor to do the "same old, same old".  

So yesterday - walk, 2nd walk dropping off book at library and then to and from pool, Conley ZOOM, reading my new book - Atlas of Unknowable Things.  Not my usual "genre" but it hooked me last night.  Going to rec it to our book club leader for the 2026-27 season.  Heard from niece who is moving back into the work world.  Took some time with her son.  She is a star on so many levels.  Lucky company who gets her.  :)  Made an appt to get my annual oil change.  And got a rec to have my car looked at to see if anyone has a short term McGyver solution to any or all of my shake, rattle and roll.  Would love to get one more road trip to NC out of my car.  Fingers crossed.  

Today - walk, Mettle Health - Understanding the Work of End-of-Life Doulas, and if storms do not keep it from happening - walk up and back to pool.  I am mail girl for landlord/landlady.  They are off to their beach house for a week.

Lots catching my eye and mind yesterday...

Made a comment when I saw this on LinkedIn yesterday - "Go West old man(woman).  What is old is new again."  2030.  Interesting map to me.  But the rest of the day - Clean apt, walk, EOLD, Lansing.  Today - think I will call and make an appt for my annual oil change - 1000 miles and change driven in the past year.  Will also see if they have any McGyver type approach to keeping my car on the road for a bit longer.  Walk, swim.  Later today:  Live Event: Where Will You Live – and with Whom – in Life’s Second Half?  by Santa Fe MEA people.  Hope it will not feel overly "of privilege".  Finished This Land is Your Land book this a.m.  Family friend gave me a dozen eggs, two books, and the 250 Celebration Smithsonian mag yesterday.  My beside table - and refrigerator - is well stocked.  

TX/NM friend on road trip back from Michigan via Atlanta to CS and then ABQ.  She does my 1000 miles in a week.  :)  More power to her.  By the end of the month she will be edging very close to a family compound in ABQ. Parents, kids, grandkids all in the same town.  THAT is a total and complete win in this day and time.  

NC friends are in their new home.  Degree of "in" will develop from barely to totally - much quicker than it might have appeared to be last night.  Big accomplishment and big change.  Their number of addresses in last 40 years and mine...a bit different.  But that is why they have been a port in the storm to so many for so many years.  That will continue to be the same at their new address because of who they are not where they are.  

Interesting divergence in me, them, and TX/NM friend.  Case study to take into my zoom today.  :)

Swimming ladies playing bridge this afternoon so I am on my own for swimming.  Not a problem.

Well that was a Tuesday...into Wednesday :/

Coffee was my big concern when I woke up this a.m.  No power to the apt when I woke up...so where to get my morning coffee was a BIG thought.  :)  Then what if no internet for EOLD or Lansing?  Yikes.  But all on and rolling as I write.  Phew!

But this was all a carry over from yesterday.  Our state had lots of weather related damage the last few days and I got caught up in it yesterday.  But I will start from the top.  Ran dishwasher. Soaked to my underwear walk even with my umbrella.  Pit stop at OSJL to go the bathroom was almost a "situation" because of my early start on my walk.  But only had to wait a minute until they opened the doors.  Then got home and made a fruit salad to take for my lunch at one of the swimming ladies. Pool closed for the day so no post lunch swim. THEN got home to no power.  Not coffee on my mind at that stage of my day, but hot shower...BUT back on at 4 p.m. ish and I jumped in the shower.  Watched the news.  Read.  Bed.  Woke up this morning - no power.  Less than an hour and back on.  That brings the story current.

I do think about not having a smart phone when these things happen.  Flip phone gets the notices from power company without power or wifi...but any real research or outreach...stymied without power or internet.  First world problem for sure, but still makes me pause.

Heard from son.  He let me know he was off to NC then GA with a high school buddy.  Fly to NC, drive to GA.  Said he would give me a call on his return.  No info on car - issue or nonissue.  As I shared with the swimming ladies at lunch - his take life as it comes and keep moving forward mode is a point of envy - and appreciation - for his mother.  :)  Certainly did not get that from his mother.  

Today - if all stays powered up - walk with family friend, clean apt, EOLD, swim, Lansing.  NC friends making their big move today!!!  So exciting and positive in my mind.  Hope they are "feeling it" - if not today, soon.  Next move was a big topic of conversation with the swimming ladies at lunch.  All in 80's except me so big house and "what's next" to stay safe and sound mentally and physically...and financially.  NC friends are such good - and inspiring - planners and thinkers.  

You like a challenge and that’s just as well because the next few days will bring news that is not only exciting but which encourages you to up your game and reach new heights of achievement. As a Cardinal sign you were born to succeed.

Love shouldn't get in the way of friendship or vice versa, darling Libra. Tend to platonic and romantic relationships while the Aries Moon aspects Mercury RX and Venus. Feeling very fortunate as to how the last two days have gone.  Saw a former co worker as I wrapped up my walk yesterday who had been out of power for 3 days and had lots of "clean up on aisle 6" with trees and debris on her property.  Another reason I appreciate my location.  So onward to a continued positive outcome day.  Eat, clean, walk, zoom, swim, zoom.  Rinse and repeat kind of day works for me.  :)  Have a good Wednesday.  

 

Mondays do feel better with my change of "schedule"

Feel that I run on a "higher frequency" on Mondays now that they are shopping and wash clothes days.  :)  Always makes me smile when I see/feel change with just the smallest recalibration of activity.  Of course yesterday was helped by being 72 versus 102 from last week.  But there were some other "lifts" too.

Picture of a place I pass everyday on my walks.  My town at the riverbend.  :)  Had already "seasoned" the water last Thursday for washing clothes - that is "a thing" when using those Tide pods to make sure they dissolve and not stick to clothes - when I sprayed cherry juice on my white shirt so I was ready to go there.  Headed out for walk early - 8 a.m.  55/45% without/with umbrella on the walk.  Not as bad as I had anticipated with all the weathermen talk.  Then to FIC "office hours" with new Executive Directors.  Heard about a new IC - https://www.olamina.homes - near Winston-Salem.  Timing is an issue.  IF the concept was going to work for me, I would like to be a renter in a community's ADU to help someone younger pay off their investment...the Chip Conley/Golden Girls approach but less "aging with privilege" feel.  As I shared yesterday - I am looking for a place to live and die supported by like minded people.  But at the same time helping younger people meet their long term goals. A term I saw - "regenerative adult living".  Regenerative adult living moves beyond traditional "retirement" by focusing on restoring the mind, body, and the environment. Instead of just maintaining health, these communities use practices like organic farming and daily wellness routines to help adults stay active, connected, and continuously grow.  I saw stats like - "Boomers represent 42% of all homebuyers and over half of sellers."  "Boomers own nearly twice their share of American homes with 3 or more bedrooms."  Seems to be lots of opps for helping the next generation make their lifestyle move that is appropriate and meeting the needs of so many soloagers.  Just my thought.

So walk, FIC, wash clothes, FEN Chosen Death Forum with a very good conversation.  Took care of balance of 2026 RMD conveyances in my intergenerational transfer way.  :)

As to Shoprite/ALDI.  My ALDI purchases all worked at lower prices - peaches, red grapes, white bread.  5 items, $14.67.  Shoprite:  Spent $13.79/Saved $8.95.  Krusteaz pancake box mix - $2.24, CON coffee - 26 ounces for $9.99, bananas.  3 items, $13.79.  If I could find a cheaper sub for grapes...I will be on the look out.  :)

Did make note of my car mileage yesterday.  184,672.  7/3/2025 - 183,103. 7/27/2024 - 181,415.  Plan to get my annual oil change later this month.  Going to go to a new place that the swimming ladies use now that there is no one I know at the place I have been going to.  Will see if they have any bandaids for the rattle and roll.  

Today it is still raining. Pool was closed yesterday so no swimming.  Plan is run dishwasher, walk, porch lunch with swimming ladies, swim. I will drive the 86 yr old to the lunch...good news is her hearing is bad so maybe she won't hear the rattle and roll.  Will see if pool opens.  No announcement yet...4:12 a.m.

Something you thought was bad will suddenly look good, and something you thought was good will start to look less enticing. With Neptune turning retrograde, your best course of action by far is to stick with the status quo . . . for now.

Moved calmly through the day

Walked to Unionville and back.  Walked to pool and back.  Good conversation with the swimming ladies.  Porch lunch tomorrow with them at one of their houses...no porch or lunch at my apt.  :)  No news from son.  Will leave it there.

Today - 11 a.m. FIC, 3 p.m. FEN, wash clothes.  Will see if walking, swimming are in the mix with weather.  Will swing by Shoprite/ALDI at some point.  Will walk even if rain keeps up.  Swimming will be the wild card.  Working my way through "This Land Is Your Land" book.  

The fact that a work colleague is behaving in such an obnoxious fashion should be all the reason you need to put some distance between you. It must be obvious by now that they are beyond persuasion, so cut them out of your life for a while.

This is an important day for you to make valuable connections with others, Libra. You'll find yourself engaged in fast-paced, witty conversations and debates from which you can learn a great deal. Took a bit of a roller coaster ride...

I was calm during the day...except a couple of interludes with sister #1 and 6 re a picture my son posted on instagram of a tree falling on a car and that car perhaps being his?  The only info I got from son during day was "Happy 4th!" and that he was making sister #6's onion/cheese dip.  And some pics from a place I had never seen before that looked like a version of Wickham Park.  Hmmm...nothing about losing a car to limb-age.  Will see if anything surfaces today.  

Balance of yesterday - weather broke to a degree so did full walk to Shoppes. Chatted with the Clemson grad tri-athlete who lives in town. He knew Wickham Park from his son's HS cross country meet days. Caught in a couple of rain events but not an issue.  Watched some of Paraguay-France game.  Sad about ending.  

Today - walk to Unionville, pool, ALDI and Shoprite/ALDI?  Tomorrow is looking a bit tight in the a.m. - walk, 11 a.m. FIC "office hours" online, 3 p.m. FEN, pool in between or rain.  Will see what feels right post swim today.  Only things on my list are CON coffee at Shoprite, Peaches, Bananas, bread at ALDI.  Tuesday lunch bunch with swimming ladies, Wed EOLD, Lansing, Friday Mettle.  

You will be incredibly ambitious over the next few days but you need to be sensible about the goals you decide to set for yourself. Even a Libra has limits and if you aim too high you may never even get your feet off the ground.

Fan on, Pajamas to bathing suit...that says it for the day yesterday

Put the table top fan on yesterday a.m. at 7:30 a.m. to noon in my office.  Turned it on this a.m. at 4:30 a.m.  Yesterday morning started uncomfortably.  Today was...why not?  :)  Sleep was sound last night.  Today all should break.  It has been an interesting few days AND I said to myself many times - SO glad son was visiting last week and not this past week!!!  Guided again.  :)

So yesterday put the fan on.  Decided not to walk.  All the swimming ladies back at the pool.  Pool closed today - part of budget cuts. So today - Lansing DC and then I will walk to the Shoppes.  Plenty of places to pop into if it gets to hot.  Spoke to son yesterday.  He was making a mussel dish for a BBQ party at a friend's house today.  Spoke to sister #6 after her 5 hour should have been 3 hour drive home in 100+ degree heat on Thursday.  No summer job work for her until tomorrow so she is taking some down time.  Woke up to a text from one of my former school #1 bosses.  Good to hear from him.  Happy 4th and come and visit message.  He is in AZ so during a New England heat wave is not the best time to try to entice me to more 100+ weather.  But I will keep it in mind for when it might be inviting.  :)

Change is good for you. Change is what you need. If you keep repeating those phrases to yourself the changes that occur this weekend, and they could be major, will work in your favor. Positive thinking isn’t a meaningless phrase, it’s a very real thing.

Get your priorities straight while the Pisces Moon squares Mars and Uranus, darling Libra. Some dreams will need to take a back seat as the universe throws more intriguing options your way. If you're in a position to hire help, now is a good time to do so. Though it may seem costly to onboard a new employee at first, you'll have plenty of chances to make up the difference with less on your plate. End of Day poem from niece. At the end of the day - a mirror of questions.  Good reminders of questions to ask myself at the day wraps up. As to yesterday...hot it was.  A bit of tossing and turning but then - out.  Hence the "late" start.  Also forgot to include peeps arrival from cousin on Wednesday.  Thought I would need some "salve" from all the family news and son's return home.  :)  She is a good person.  And I put her and - as I shared with another cousin re his inclusion in my "36".   https://agingalmanac.substack.com/archive  I was taken by the author's last two posts.  

So peeps, swimming and walking.  Getting me through the heat wave week.  No AC or fans yet so all is well.  I am glad I was not sister #6 yesterday.  She left her house at 3:30 a.m. to get to her daughter and then left her daughter and SIL at 1:30 p.m. and did not get home until 6:30 p.m. for a usual 3 hour drive.  Holiday and heat...everyone was going in her direction to get to the water.  

So for me - shorter than normal walk.  Picked up book at cooling station/library - Judy Blume a life.  Did not want to run out of reading material over holiday/library closed starting today weekend.  Pool.  Today...pool.  Will see what fills in the balance of the day.  Lansing tomorrow a.m.

Took a look at Shoprite coupons for the week ahead.  Save $7.30 on Chock full o'Nuts Ground Coffee When you Buy ONE (1) 23 to 26-oz. can,, Any Variety *Redeem up to 4 times in a single order.  That might get me in the Shoprite buying mood.  But balance of needs can be ALDI on Monday.  Don't need much more than grapes and banana replenishment after last week's shopping.

You won't gel with judgmental peers while the Aquarius Moon and Venus face off, dearest Libra. Weak egos are revealed by those who waste time putting others down. Be an advocate for kindness to discourage unkind gossip. If your pleas land on deaf ears, it might be best to look for new friends. Luckily, the universe will anticipate your needs and send kindred spirits your way once Mars and Uranus unite. Allow connections to evolve quickly when they hit at a soul level. Get a full night of rest to shed work week related stress after Luna enters Pisces tonight. 

You may say one thing one minute and the opposite the next, Libra. Usually you can jump from one issue to another with no problem, but today people are likely going to call you on it.
