I threw in the towel early yesterday :)

Surprise, surprise - I overthought a few things yesterday and closed up my machine early - missing both IOWA DC and Death Sangha.  Guess the weekend ahead is keeping me from being present in the moment.  Oh well, but this too will pass.  Just sent TX/NM friend Willie Nelson song - Energy Follows Thought.  Lots of moving parts to her visit this week per her email from yesterday.  

Yesterday - Watched FBI.  Ran dishwasher, walk, ran into PD buddy who was off on a sick day but needed some fresh air, CA DC and then I passed on evening schedule.  Had turned off my laptop before the message that IOWA was last night and not Thursday as facilitator's email said a few days back.  But I am thinking that I needed to shutdown.  :)  

Today - Checked TX/NM flight info.  All on time as we speak. Clean apt.  Watch NCIS:NY. Walk with family friend.  EOLD at noon.  Nothing else on paper calendar.  

Thursday - being picked up to head to beach for beach walk and seafood lunch with TX/NM friend and sister #4 and maybe cousin.  Nothing else on my paper calendar until Saturday.  Radio silence from sister #4 & 6 re this weekend.  As to when/if they will be arriving and/or they will be staying with me. Will have to figure out when I will watch my Wednesday shows.   Shows do not speak well to my high-brow thinking, but they all are a bit of "calgon take me away" frame of mind.  :)

Post next Tuesday I have very kind offers of Shake Shack and Parkville Market "linners" to help in my re-entry to quiet life - Good way to move into November.

Well that was a Monday!!!

This picture from my cousin's trip to the beach in Sept - it will be my locale on Thursday.  The whirlwind starts tomorrow.  Luckily I will have until Thursday to get involved.  TX/NM friend will land in town tomorrow night.  Pick me up on Thursday a.m. to head to the beach for the day and lunch at Lenny & Joe's.  Meeting up with sister #4 and maybe now, my cousin.  It is going to be sunny and 60's so weather is doing its part to assist in the people weekend.  

Yesterday - I changed up my route to land me at the library toward the end of my walk so I could pick up my Nov W&T book.  And that set off a chain of events.  :)  But first things first - $17.43/$7.71 Shoprite and $11.09 at ALDI.  Butter, cheese - "PERKS"  :)  Now that TX/NM is staying somewhere else, I did not need to stock up on anything.   Whew.  Washed clothes.  Headed out for walk at 10 a.m., did not get back until 12:30 p.m.  Met the lady who helped me with some money stuff back in 2024.  She lives on one of my routes and she is taking care of her grandson on Mondays and Wednesdays and she was out for a walk.  I added a bit to my route, but fun walking with her.  Of course I ran into PD and workmen on her street.  Replacing 100+ yr water pipes proactively is a big thing in my town of late.  Then I ran into the lady who is going with TX/NM friend and I to Cambridge MA on Oct 26.  THEN I finally got to the library and picked up An American childhood by Annie Dillard.  Working my way through what was the last book on my bedside - THIS DARK NIGHT: Emily Brontë, a Life, by Deborah Lutz.  

In the in between times - happened on Dr. Christopher Kerr interview on The Diary of a CEO.  GREAT interview.  And when I sent that to one DC person, she sent me back this one from Hospice Nurse Julie...another great listen.  AND then this from family friend who I walk with on Wednesday who volunteers her time at one of our town cemeteries and where our family friend is being buried this weekend.  "Chris and I met Shelly up at the cemetery this morning to discuss Nancy's placement. After Shelly left Chris and I watched an eagle circle us overhead for 5-10 minutes. I figure it was Nancy."  You know I loved that thought.  Then a great Mettle discussion about last Friday's webinar and then PA DC where there were some new faces of people taking one of the UVM death and dying courses.  Going to a DC is one of their homework assignments.  :)  Then I called it a day!  

Today - run dishwasher, walk, CA DC, IOWA DC, Death Sangha is the plan.  Will see what comes into my day today.  Felt very "led and guided" yesterday by people, places and things.  Changed my walk route for one reason - and it was like a kaleidoscope as one turn changed the entire picture for my day.  :)

It might be a smart move to take a look at your finances, especially if you have been free and easy with the credit cards of late. Do it now rather than at the end of the week when the Sun moves into the financial area of your chart.

Feeling mixed messages from my cosmic guidance this a.m....I think I squeeze blood out of the day-to-day money turnip even though I know the big picture is not that strong.  I have never been free and easy with money but I also let fear of what if's keep me from making the best moves over the years, but I am old so steady works for me now.  I will hope the spirit of yesterday will carry me through today.  :)  Have a good Tuesday.  

The start of a different week for me :)

I am trying to deeply embed the "let life come to me" motto for this week.  So many of the things I thought would be "issue-esque" have smoothed themselves out without my intervention...wish I had learned that lesson 70 years ago.  :)  

TX/NM friend arrived in NM yesterday after 11.5 hour ride.  She will fly out here on Wednesday.  I will see her on Thursday when we head to Hammonasset for beach walk and L&J's.  She will be staying at friend's condo the entire stay.  She will have a rental car.  We will go to Boston area a week from today to see an old friend and bring with us friend's sister in law who she has not seen since her brother died 8 years ago.  Yikes.  Bien emocional!  So I can stay on my own until Thursday this week.  Phew. 

Yesterday - Sibling call and mention of a Paraguayan musician at Berklee. Friend we are going to see in Boston, her husband has been a teacher there since the '70's.  Can't wait to bring that up when we are up there.  Walked to Unionville.  Dropped storm windows on the two windows I was holding out for.  Want the apt as warm as possible - without turning the heat on - for sisters this weekend coming up.  And all my chore days will be done before anybody gets here.  I will be playing catch-up next week.  :)

Today - wash clothes, Shoprite/ALDI combo day to take advantage of some perks for things I do use from Shoprite.  Drop off The Original at library.  Need to remind myself tomorrow to pick up Nov W&T book.  Mettle discussion.  PA DC.  Tonight is the town tri-board meeting, kick off for budget discussion for FY28.  I will stay away keeping to my pledge not to care.  I watched the paint dry last cycle...too painful for me.  

Saw a former co worker yesterday on my walk.  She wants to meet and walk...will send her some date possibilities.  Told her it would be after the company period.  :)

Church supper "linner"

Great card from someone who lives on the beach.  :)  Part of the group who will be descending on town weekend of 24th.  TX/NM friend will be staying for her whole visit at the vacant home of the family friend who died last year and for whom people are coming to town on 24th.  Honoring her with dedication of our town high school athletic fields complex.  Her sister is keeping her condo for her retirement living option while she currently lives in their family home which she purchased from her siblings when her mother died.  Many I know have lots of real estate.  I have passed on that in my lifetime except one time in TX when I think we are the only people to lose money on RE in Texas in the 90's.  Oh well.  

Yesterday - watched All-In and Boston Blue.  Walk to Shoppes.  Chicken Pot Pie dinner at local church where family friend I walk with goes.  Ran into her daughter.  She was transporting take-out for her family.  A bit of memory lane in the church hall.  Informative to the swimming lady who went with me - and drove us there.  LA DC when I got home.  AND loving my latest book - The Original.  Might have to check out another of author's books - Vanessa and Her Sister by Priya Parmar is a historical fiction novel published in 2015 that explores the early adult lives and complex bond between the gifted painter Vanessa Bell and her sister, the writer Virginia Woolf (then Virginia Stephen)

Last day of a quiet week

Started my day today at 3:33 a.m.  Will see what action I am drawn to.  I have mixed feeling about the week ahead, but today I will enjoy the quiet but with a chicken pot pie dinner at family friend's church with one of the swimming ladies.  Sorry I mentioned it when I thought there would be a quilt raffle included in the event...but now just pie which is fine with me but I would have not mentioned it to the swimming ladies without the quilt piece...oh well.  Luckily I have a LA DC at 6:30 p.m. so it will be "early bird special" timing - 4:30 p.m. and eat and get home.

Yesterday - watched my Thursday shows.  Walked.  Mettle webinar.  Got a dry walk in before a very wet afternoon.  :)  Talked to sister #6.  She is still coming up next Saturday as of yesterday.  She did fall again this week...  Told her that she might want to slow it down but her schedule for weekend of Oct 24 does not reflect any "slow".  Friday after work or Saturday a.m. - 3 hr drive to my town, go to town event where family friend is being honored, Saturday night or Sunday a.m. drive to her daughter an hour away, get on train, to to NYC for a play and then Sunday night drive 3 hours back home...  Will see if that plan sticks.  Luckily with her fall, she did not break her fall with the wrist she broke and had to have surgery on earlier this year...Yikes. 

Today - watch Boston Blue.  Embarrassed to say I watch it but it's like a car wreck, can't look away.  Walk, Chicken pot pie.  LA DC.  Enjoying my latest book - The Original - A Novel - By Priya Parmar.  Novel, nonfiction?  I am having trouble with where this book came from, but am still enjoying it.  

Sounds like TX/NM friend will be staying in the condo of a family friend.  That works out well with separate spaces, but close enough.  She arrives Wed night. We will go to beach on Thursday for a walk on the beach and seafood lunch, Boston area on Monday, she heads back home on Tuesday.  Will see what fills in the gaps.  You know I am happy with nothing much.  Sister #6 and #4's arrivals and departures center around Friday or Saturday arrivals, Saturday or Sunday departures.  They will both stay here if they stay.  I will stay calm and carry on between now and Wednesday p.m.  

You have too many options to choose from and your priority this weekend must be to narrow them down to the few that will work best for you personally. If you’ve got a dozen projects on the go, you may end up finishing none of them.

Loved ones may seem mopey or distant this morning, darling Libra, due to a harsh square between the Capricorn Moon and Saturn. Week winding down

Had a jolt this a.m.  Thought my "e-calendar" entries had disappeared...that would have been an interesting re-construct.  I guess I am sitting with too many thoughts from the Eggers books.  :)  And now it is Friday before the week ahead that will shuffle the deck as to people and activities.  Oct 21-27.  I will get as set in mind as I can, then let it roll.  :)  A very good precursor for this was my N CA DC yesterday.  The group of people in that discussion are the best.  Glad I logged on for that and the meeting I was supposed to have in that time slot had been moved.  

So yesterday - Watched Chicago shows, walked, N CA DC, reading The Every.  Really should finish that today.  Today - watch L&O shows, walk, Mettle - why we talk about illness, grief, and loss with children. Will see how the forecasted rain impacts walk timing.  Not much big thinking of late...I made "a move" to save money by not using conditioner for my daily hair washing...gave that up after a week as hair turned to straw.  Need to get "a bit" bigger on my thinking on how to make things work.  :)  

Self-discipline has never been a problem for you but not everyone in your world is as focused and competitive as you are. Make allowances for that fact over the next 24 hours. Don’t expect others to do what is clearly beyond them.

Candle lighting picture for today. Need the inspiration. Still a week before company comes to town, but on my mind as to prep.  :)  Heard from TX/NM friend that we will be taking someone with us to visit friend in Boston area on Oct 26. Boston area friend's sister in law who she has not seen in 8 years. Nice development.  

Yesterday - cleaned apt, walked with family friend, EOLD, spoke with son and a guy from Houston - the guy hired to replace myself at the company I left when we moved to NC, Lansing DC.  Read The Every.  Could finish it up today.  Today - watch my Chicago shows.  :)  Walk. N CA DC.  Will see what else pops in.  

SS COLA news - with the Medicare premium increase...I might find myself $20-30 ahead each month.  :)

You find it easy to put yourself in another person’s place and see life from their point of view, but the only view that matters today is your own. Focus on your number one goal and don’t let anyone talk you out of going for it.

Fall came to me yesterday

Ran dishwasher, walked, Noon - PCV program which was very informative.  Not encouraging about what might be in the conversation in DC...  Then CA DC.  Then SD DC.  Wide ranging conversations and made for a full day.  Today - clean apt.  Walk with family friend. EOLD at noon - Navigating Eco-Grief, Lansing DC tonight.  

Not sure what else traveled through my mind yesterday.  We will see where my minds goes today.  

If you get the cold shoulder from a friend or colleague today, that’s fine. They don’t need you and you don’t need them. In fact, you will accomplish a lot more without them, especially as so much of their input always seems to be negative.

Week begins :)

This picture seemed to fit my morning.  A couple of un-stop-ables.  Time and the ocean.  And time will take me to this time next week which will lead to people in town...leaving the details to reveal themselves.  :)

Yesterday - washed clothes, ALDI only $16.17/8 item day, walk, read The Every, talked to TX/NM friend, ZEN DC - 2 group members do a reality check on their cognitive impairment diagnoses. TX/NM will be landing in town a week from tomorrow.  Today - run dishwasher, walk, PCV webinar at noon, CA DC at 1, SD CA at 4.  Will see where that all lands with sorting out my thoughts about balance of Oct.  Again that Oct 15 to Jan 15 time period and how life shifts focus during that time.  Will think about my Solstice/Quarter Day occurrences. Samhain 2026 begins at nightfall on Saturday, October 31, 2026, and continues through Sunday, November 1, 2026. Spiritual Significance: Widely regarded as a time when the veil between the physical world and the spirit world is thinnest, making it ideal for honoring ancestors and reflecting.  Will keep that in my mind as my "recovery time" from company.  Massage Friday Oct 30 and Samhain.  Company leaves on Oct 27.  Seems to sync.  :)

Quiet day...putting storm windows down :)

Not sure what this pic has to do with me dropping all but 2 of my storm windows in place, but I guess I am thinking about cold weather coming and upcoming company...  :)  "This too will pass" as my Jacksonville FL college friend said about the water in her lanai and my company coming and cold weather.  Very interested in what I am supposed to be learning from the two weeks ahead.  Again Oct 15-Jan 15 - land mine material timeframe in my mind.  It is interesting to feel how quiet it gets in the apt when I go from screens to glass in the windows.  :)  

So yesterday - walked to Unionville, windows, read The Every, two calls from sister #1 - sibling call early, then another call as she went by a fundraiser location on the Cape for an Omega Home near where she and gentleman caller are staying.  Always lifts me up when I hear about what make people think of me as they wander their worlds.  Great Death Sangha in the afternoon.  Great group of people in that room.  One emergency room doc really has his finger on the pulse of life and death.  What a gift if people encounter him when in a medical crisis.  

Today - wash clothes, ALDI/nothing drawing me to Shoprite - have until 10/31 to use a couple of the PERKS coupons I know I want, walk, ZEN DC.  Read.

One lady in the W&T book club likes to take a picture each time to post on her FB...  :)  Oh well.  It was a beautiful day for a walk.  Left the apt at 12:30-ish and arrived at 1:50-ish and got home at 3:30-ish.  Other than book club, spent much of day reading and finishing and dropping off at library on my way to book club - Don't Be Evil. Felt less than no sympathy for the woman writing that book... Started The Every last night.  Did not realize it was a direct follow of The Circle. 

Today - Walk to Unionville, Death Sangha.  Rain is supposed to come later this afternoon.  Heard from college friend in Jacksonville - "water in her lanai".  Acquaintance near Tampa - rain but no issues.  Sibling call - sister #1 and gentleman caller should be leaving Cape on Tuesday or Wednesday.  Still have one week until TX/NM friend arrives, sisters 4 & 6.  Oct 21 and 24, respectively.  Sisters just an overnight.  TX/NM friend in area for a week.  

Life has been pretty good to you of late, but there is one area that has been in a worrying state of flux. Now things have started to calm down, you can push ahead again with a creative project that has been very much on-off in recent weeks.

Wandering day

My great nephew is ready for Halloween.  :)  Wish my son lived closer to his cousin and her family.  Think they would be great friends.  :)  "One of one day at a time."  As son set the tone of his current life as to the current single status.  Onward and upward.  

Good news for UNC basketball last night.  Will see how football goes today.  

My day yesterday - watched L&O's from Thursday night and then headed out for walk at 10 a.m.  Got home at 1:30 p.m.  Ran into someone on the rails to trails and walked her and her dog back to her car...then retraced my steps back to where I turned around with her.  Beautiful day so no complaints on my part.  :)  

Today - Listen to All-In, watch Boston Blue if I can get it for free, walk to W&T book club.  Not sure what else will pop in to day.

Walking up to a 3:33 a.m.  Will see if action opps appear today.  Nothing on my paper calendar but going to be a great wandering day with the weather.  

So yesterday...watched my 3 Chicago shows.  2.5 before I headed to AAA for my license renewal work. On way to AAA stopped at walk up at BOA to cash cat tending check.  Whole AAA work was less than 15 minutes.  Lady did look at the first picture she took and said - "maybe we should try that again"...I did take the 8 year option so she felt that looking at that first pic for 8 years would be hard.  :)  I don't expect to be driving for 8 years, but went for the 8 over 2...  I saw the Medicare $90 in my bank in the morning so I thought that was a sign to just do it.  So with that $90 and my cat tending $, I got Even Stephen with pumper upper, power cord and license.  Getting ahead?...not my style.  :)  So in car to BOA, AAA, couldn't think of any other stops, watched end of 3rd Chicago show, walk, sister #6 called.  She was with sisters 1 and 4 on the Cape.  #4 took the ride she had asked if I wanted to go with.  Walking around looking at shops and Capt Parker's for dinner...no draw there.  

Today - L&O 2 shows to watch from last night.  Am thinking I will be locked out from watching CBS shows with the new Sundance configuration, but will try on Saturday a.m. to watch Boston Blue.  Might be good for my brain and soul if I can't watch that show.  :)  So watch L&O, walk.  Will see what else falls into day.  Will so my Saturday walk route today since I will do Friday route tomorrow to work with the W&T book club.

Feels like another "action day" :)

This pic is for my son.  While he and I were on the phone yesterday, he got a text from a lady he had had a couple of dates with...no mas.  Friends but no romance was her decision...I had hoped for a different outcome and I hope that he did not inherit "my gene" about not making a meaningful place in my life to commit to any relationship.  Living alone - I have made it work and have had a very interesting life, but never committed to being there for another person - in a girlfriend/boyfriend, husband/wife way...over 70+ years...not traumatic in a what happened way, but unknown as to what could have happened.  Want a different outcome for my son.  Time will tell. 

Yesterday - cleaned apt, walked with family friend, EOLD - speaker had to reschedule so it was just an "ask us anything" session by the facilitators and it was interesting.  Then I took a second walk - walked to library to drop off Krueger and pick up two more books.  Holiday on Monday...had to be prepared because I think the "Don't Be Evil" will be a quick read.  Just like the whistleblower at one tech giant, this is intriguing as to what those hip and happening and money printing companies are like on the inside.  

Today - 9 a.m. license renewal AAA appt, then bank. Guess I will go for the 8 versus 2 year renewal - that will make it completely Even Stephen as to money in for cat tending and money out for pumper upper, power cord, license renewal.  :/  Will check and see if I got my $90 medicare $.  Fingers crossed.  :)  Will see about watching Chicago Wednesday shows.  Hope the technology of that has not changed since last season.  More fingers crossed.  Son, money, Chicago.  :)

Stand back from what you are working on and try to see it from both a higher and a wider perspective. It’s not that you are doing it wrong, but if you give yourself more options, the results will far exceed what you managed to get done before.

Action day Tuesday

Not sure what got me going yesterday but I checked off a lot of boxes.  Ran dishwasher. Finished Krueger. Started "Don't Be Evil".  Voted - state now has universal absentee ballots AND early voting. Bad government that we have both...but nobody stepped back and said - "if this passes, we don't need that" in time enough. Works for me since I live right next to town hall.  Sent some vacay money to son for his trip with his father later this month and to "cover" all the holidays between now and end of year.  I am not a presents kind of gal. Walk. Swung by swimming lady's to see how trip to AZ went and get my cat tending money.  Embarrassed that she pays me, but with tire pumper upper, power cord, license renewal...I will take it.  Swung by the flower bridge to take a picture to send to sister #1 since she funds the pot in memory of our parents. Talked for an hour...so not me...with sister #4.  She wanted to know if I wanted to go to Cape with her this weekend to see sister #1 and 6.  I declined. She closed down her pool yesterday. Seems like a lot of $ and work for a season that is Memorial Day to Oct 1.  Oh well.  Not mine and not mine as to $ or work.  Decided to not "go to" the Death Sangha last night.  The 8 p.m. start time is "too late" now that it is getting dark so much earlier.  Had a call from a NC friend who is in memory care at the CCRC...I thought her husband had said she was not with her phone or email...it was a very lucid and aware conversation and her sadness was palpable...will be curious if I hear from the husband if she shares with him that she called me.  So painful for me.  

Talked with sister #4 about the $90 to old people...her friends got it, I have not, she had not.  I will be on the lookout.  

Chicago shows premiere tonight...will have to get that on my viewing schedule for tomorrow a.m.  :)

Today - clean apt, walk with family friend, EOLD -  Rooted Until the End: Community, Place and the Art of Dying Well with Catherine Campion.  AND today I crack open the orange marmalade I bought awhile back! For my egg and toast breakfast rotation.  Big gastro day!  :)  Tomorrow - license renewal, bank to cash cat tending check, will think about whether there is anything else I need while I am out and about in car on a "non-car day".  Usually only go out in car on Mondays but realized that the upcoming Monday was a holiday so didn't know if that would work for the license renewal.  Saturday - W&T book club.  Nothing else on my paper calendar for the week.

Kept it simple yesterday

I am trying to remember my Monday.  No word from swimming lady as to key drop off time.  Lots of input from GA DC group.  But from the top - Washed clothes, dropped off latest finished book at library, Shoprite $31.68/$28.17 day 15 items all on sale.  And 10 of those items - 10 cans of tuna for $10.  Free lb of butter.  Could not pass on coffee and shampoo sale which pushed the $ higher but won't need to purchase for awhile.  :)  Then to ALDI $13.18 6 items.  Walked.  FEN CDF at 3 p.m. I passed on the NE FL DC.  Reached a point where last week and weekend had enough scheduled events. Doesn't take much to push my activity meter into the red zone.  :)  

On my paper calendar today - Death Sangha tonight.  Nothing else.  But my thoughts are - go fill out and hopefully vote absentee today after I check in at town hall.  Make my license renewal appointment.  Run dishwasher.  Walk. Will see what fills in the day.

Full dream night...I wonder why? :)

I had a planes, trains, and automobiles type dream.  It was hard trying to get to my destination.  Still in an airport or transit center when I woke up. DC Facilitator ending the Alameda DC last night with a question of "what is your passion" these days...well the group got an earful.  Still processing all I thought about as I went through the summit week with all that input.  I guess the group last night was my free integration session.  

Just sent swimming lady an email to see when she wants me to swing by with her key.  Not sure how much of the story of her visit to AZ I will want to hear, but I will see what comes up.  

So yesterday - finished A Vast Horizon.  Will drop that off on my walk today.  Started latest Krueger book - God's Country last night.  Late in the day sibling call from sister #1.  She and gentleman caller still have company.  Whale watch yesterday morning.  More shopping at S&S.  I just went in and added more coupons.  She does not look at prices, but I like doing it anyway.  :)  Walked to Unionville and back.  Alameda DC.  Small group - lots of activities in the Bay Area that kept many of the regulars away.  Tires did not need any air yesterday.  Might go to every other week check going forward.  :)

Today - Wash clothes, walk, book drop, see what swimming lady picks for drop off day/time, Shoprite/ALDI, 3 p.m. FEN CDF, tonight maybe NE FL DC if I am drawn to that at 6:30 p.m.  Have an assignment from blog boss.  :)  Thought full back and forth with GA DC people stemming from a question one posed to the group.  I need to go in and schedule license renewal appt at AAA.  I am thinking next Monday in conjunction with grocery shopping taking the car out.  Do have a plan to spend just enough at Shoprite to get the free lb of butter offer by buying the tuna and mouthwash on sale.  Balance of shopping - not much - at ALDI.

So much for my debrief/integration day

Integration seems to be a buzz word of late - I did not buy a ticket for today's integration session wrapping up this past week's summit, but I do plan on working through all the thoughts I had once the doors closed on the free part of the summit - 5 days, 2-90 minute sessions per day.  Free of charge.  Gift.  That gift in conjunction with conversation on Friday with son...lots to think about.  

But in the "sparks flew" - literally and figuratively...What was not priceless on Saturday morning after my "week that was" - was when at 9:20 a.m. on Saturday I was getting ready for Lansing DC and sparks flew literally and the power cord died for my laptop.  I called my local computer guy at 9:23 a.m., drove to his house (MAZDA came through for me) purchased a non-free new power cord and was logged on for the10 a.m. DC.  Led and guided.  High mark-up, but I was up and running in 30 minutes on a Saturday morning. That is worth something to me.  

So yesterday - cat tend, computer guy, Lansing DC, walk to Shoppes, cruised through Shoprite and ALDI to make sure I was informed for my Monday shopping trip, cat tend.  Watched an interesting Viewfinders episode on Ted Turner's  Vermejo in New Mexico. Per Mr. Google - Ted Turner's approximately 2 million acres of ranchland across the American West will remain protected from future development, parcelization, and commercial subdivision following his death.  Will do Shoprite and ALDI.  Free lb of butter if I spend $15 at Shoprite and they have albacore tuna 10 for $10, so that and something else on sale that I need.  Then to ALDI for grapes, bread, bananas.  

Today - Walk to Unionville, tire check with my pumper-upper, NO CAT TEND!  Pushing the reset button for October now that the cat tend is over.  Good news that this is the every other month first Sunday so Alameda DC later today.  Continuing to read A Vast Horizon...will see if I get to the end.

Wow, what a "content" day AND it is already 5:37 a.m.

So 7:32 p.m. to 5:33 a.m...Some people talk about things that keep them up at night but I lean more to my long sleeps as giving myself LOTS of dream time and it was full from beginning to end was the feeling I woke up with.  All kinds of people wrangling with all kinds of challenges, but the I felt I was there in all the scenarios just to be present EXCEPT for one scene where I was being challenged to get out of clothes to be able to jump into a great swimming hole and no one seemed to notice my struggles.  And the person who did stop to jump and was waiting for me to get there was one of my former school #2 bosses...  I am thinking that my brain was busy processing all the input from great speakers I heard this week at the online gathering I was fortunate to be at.  And that is just the feeling I have about the dreaming phase of my yesterday.  :)

As to my awake part of Friday - Cat tend (today is the last day!!!!), walk, son called while I was on my walk, TX/NM friend called while I was on my walk, Session 1-Day 5, cat tend, Sister #6 called-she is off to Atlanta to see her gentleman caller this weekend and she was asking me about some options for one of her teacher buddies who is trying to reenter the US Independent School realm after 3 or 4 years at a school in Switzerland, Session 2-Day 5-FINALE.  So much that I want to write about as to where I journeyed this week.  All without one IRL encounter...but many "encounters".

Son's conversation covered a food pop-up he was cooking for at a spot near his house, he did share that his 2-dates-so-far person is a hairdresser...as I told my NC friend, I would have loved a mechanic but if you know the "looks" I and my son carry into the world...maybe a hairdresser is a good thing.  :)  He also shared he wanted me to keep him informed on how he could be involved with any inspiration that comes to me from this week.  This baby boomer how people die deal seems to be "a thing".  And with the Millennials' lean into the experiential - maybe a boomer and a Millennial could be a good coupling to find a niche...  

I texted the swimming lady to say I am on for today and will pass the baton to her for her arrival back in town later tonight.  I will keep my feelings quiet for now as to old people and pets and her 90-year old BIL still taking surgery as a route to .... what?

Planning a long walk to Shoppes area today.  Pick of the weekend as to weather.  So watch All-in, cat tend, Lansing DC, walk, cat tend, call it a day!  Got confirmation that Alameda DC is on for tomorrow.  Two good DC's to help me see what comes up that I want to share after the info overload of the week.  Be present with the people I am with in the DC and be present with calm as I wander.

Angel numbers and more... :)

I have been barraged by angel numbers of late. Couldn't ignore it again when I woke up at 3:33 a.m. today. :) This has been quite a week with the The Death Inside The Death Summit. When death hits family dysfunction...  Each day the speakers have been so worth listening to.  Today is Day 5 of 5.  Next week will be interesting as to how I "craft" a new daily schedule.  Having this AND my cat tending has worked well.  7 a.m. to cat, chore of the day, walk, session 1 at 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. cat tend #2, eat meal #2, read/watch news/CREATE TV episode whichever draws me in, session 2 at 6 p.m., 7:30 p.m. end-o-day for me.  :)

So summit over today, swimming lady/cat owner back Saturday, 20 days until TX/NM friend arrives in town.  I need to keep a keen eye on what I do with these 20 days in prep for people.  :)  Sisters #4,6 are due to town on Oct 24.  Good dose of anticipatory anxiety popping up.  :) It is going to be jarring for me - timewise, moneywise, exercise wise...For some reason AGAIN Oct 15-Jan 15 are tricky times for me in my Greta Garbo "'I want to be let alone."  :)  I take solace in the summit, my tire pumper upper machine, and the positive developments in my son's life.  The last one with deepest meaning.  I will keep the good thought that his life will begin a complete and total "up and to the right" progression as his father's did at the same age my son finds himself at.  

So yesterday - finished A Fortune of Sand - no classic, but enjoyed all the Detroit history and geographic references, cat, walked, session 1, cat, session 2.  Was not called in to help family friend with grandson coverage while she went to a doctor's appt.  Phew!  Did start A Vast Horizon.  I seem to be going back and forth with non-fiction and fiction. 

Today - last day of summit, next to last day of cat tend, temp to be almost 80...I will spend as much time outside as possible.  :)  

Put some more reward dollars on sister #1's S&S shopping.  Looks like it will be another close to $1000 worth of grocery shopping for her and her gentleman caller and their company this summer vacay time.  YIKES!  My budget for the month is that number minus a zero.  :)  I do enjoy my little game of clipping coupons and converting her points into dollars.  :)

Don't see me interacting with anyone IRL today.  And I am very happy that my online company will be at the summit.  They will be my "someones" I can relax with.  BUT I will try to keep my eyes open if wisdom comes my way - from whomever.  :)  Have a good Friday.
